Soft annealing
Heat to 730-760℃, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 207.
Stress relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to approx. 600-650℃, holding for 1-2 hoursat heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
Hardening
Harden froma temperature of 780-810℃, 820-850℃ followed by oil or water quenching. Hardness after quenching is about 60 HRC.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 150-180℃.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1100-850℃.
